Terms of sale

What you buy, plainly said.

Last updated: 21 August 2026

This is a courtesy translation. Only the French version is legally binding.

TyKaoz is bought once and is yours. These terms say exactly what that purchase covers, what it does not, and what you can do if the product turns out not to suit you. They are written to be read.

Who sells, who builds

TyKaoz™ is published by Haruni SAS, a French simplified joint-stock company registered with the Rennes Trade and Companies Register under SIREN 482 371 564, with its registered office at 18 Rue Noël Blayau, 35000 Rennes, France. Legal representative: Sébastien Burel, president.

The sale itself is concluded with Paddle.com Market Ltd, acting as the authorised reseller and Merchant of Record: Paddle takes the payment, determines, collects and remits the tax applicable in your country, and issues the invoice. Paddle's name, not Haruni's, therefore appears on your bank statement and on your invoice.

This changes nothing about who you talk to: for anything concerning the product, your licence, or a refund, write to us directly at demat@tykaoz.bzh.

The product

TyKaoz is a native macOS application for chatting with large language models, whether they run on your Mac (Apple Intelligence, local MLX weights, Ollama) or at a remote provider. On top of chat it adds a private documentary layer: you import your own files into a local wiki, and the application answers from them while citing its sources.

Your data stays on your Mac. We host none of your conversations, documents or indexes.

The application can connect to third-party model providers if you want it to. You use your own API keys with those providers: we resell neither model access, nor credits, nor compute of any kind. Their terms and their pricing bind you to them directly.

Requirements: an Apple Silicon Mac running macOS 26 or later. The application is not distributed for Intel Macs.

What the licence allows

Your purchase grants a perpetual, personal, non-exclusive licence to use the software. Perpetual means what it says: the version you hold keeps working with no time limit, including after the update window ends, and including offline.

You may:

You may not:

To recognise your Macs, the application generates a random identifier on first activation. It is never a hardware serial number: see the privacy policy.

The source code of TyKaoz remains the property of Haruni SAS. The licence covers use of the software, not ownership of it.

The update window

Every purchase includes an update window: one year, or two depending on the option you chose. During that period, every new version we publish is offered to you at no extra cost.

When the window ends, nothing switches off. Your application keeps working exactly as it did the day before, with all of its features. Only versions published after that date stop being offered. You may then buy a new window if you wish — or do nothing and keep the version you have.

This is not a subscription: no recurring charge is ever made, and there is nothing to cancel.

We promise neither a release cadence nor any specific future feature. A purchase covers the product as it exists on the day you buy it, plus whatever we actually publish during the window.

Price and payment

Prices shown on the buy page are tax inclusive, displayed in your country's currency where supported. The applicable tax is determined, collected and remitted by Paddle according to where you live.

Payment is a single charge taken when you order. The order is firm once payment is confirmed.

We may change our prices at any time. The price that applies is the one displayed when you order; a later change has no effect on a purchase already made.

Delivery

Delivery is digital and immediate. As soon as payment is confirmed you receive a licence key by email, along with the download link. The application is downloaded from tykaoz.bzh as a disk image signed and notarised by Apple.

You activate it inside the application: Settings → Licence → paste the key.

If the key has not arrived within the hour, check your spam folder and then write to demat@tykaoz.bzh: we will reissue it.

Free trial

TyKaoz can be tried free for 14 days, with no account, no card and no sign-up. The trial is counted locally, on your Mac.

After the trial, chatting with models remains free to use. Only the advanced features — the documentary wiki, augmented retrieval, agents — require a licence.

Withdrawal and refunds

We refund you within 14 days, with no reason needed. The details are on the refund policy.

One legal note: because this is digital content delivered immediately, the statutory right of withdrawal under EU consumer law lapses once you agree to that immediate delivery at checkout. The 14-day window we offer is therefore a voluntary commercial commitment that goes beyond what the law requires of us.

Warranties and liability

TyKaoz carries the statutory warranties of conformity and against hidden defects provided by French law, none of which these terms set aside.

Beyond those, the software is provided as is. We do not warrant that it will be free of defects, nor that it will meet a particular purpose you had in mind without having put it to us.

On the quality of answers: TyKaoz is a tool for talking to language models. Those models produce plausible text that is sometimes wrong. The answers displayed carry no guarantee of accuracy and no liability on our part — including when they cite your own documents. Check what matters.

Save for personal injury and gross or wilful misconduct, our liability is limited to the amount you actually paid for your licence.

We are not answerable for third-party services you connect the application to (model providers, servers you host yourself), for their availability, or for what they do with the data you send them.

Personal data

How we handle your data is set out in the privacy policy. In short: your conversations and documents never leave your Mac, and the only data we hold is what is needed to issue and validate your licence.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by French law. The sales relationship between you and Paddle.com Market Ltd is additionally governed by Paddle's own terms.

If something goes wrong, write to us first: most disagreements are settled in a single exchange, and it is by far the quickest route.

If your complaint concerns payment, invoicing or a refund, it falls to Paddle.com Market Ltd as Merchant of Record. Their support is reachable from the bottom of your invoice, and we are happy to help you through it.

Your statutory consumer rights, including the right to bring proceedings before the courts where you live, remain untouched.
